Dr Carissa Doherty ND has been a naturopathic doctor since 2002. She completed her premedical studies at the University of Guelph obtaining a Specialized Honours degree in Bio-Medical Toxicology
In 2018, Dr Carissa Doherty ND along with her sister Sonya Doherty were invited to train 100 pediatricians at Hubei Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital in Wuban Hubei China. They Spoke on Environmental Medicine, Lyme Disease and Methylation medicine. China Oct 2018.
Since 2020, Dr Doherty ND has been a medical advisor for the Canadian supplement company NFH.
In 2025, Dr Carissa Doherty ND was elected to be a board member of the CAND.
She is super excited to be a co-founder of Exceptional ND, and educational platform to support the naturopathic community.
In addition to a general family practice, Dr Carissa Doherty ND takes a special interest in POTS, MCAS, Lyme Disease/PANS, methylation medicine and environmental medicine.
Over the years, she has mentored many naturopathic students and new grads and shared clinical pearls from 20 years of practicing naturopathic medicine.
