Dr Anne Hussain ND is a naturopathic doctor, speaker, and author of The Period Literacy Handbook. Her own journey with PCOS and growing up with limited access to reproductive health education in Karachi, Pakistan, has informed her compassionate and evidence-informed approach to care, ensuring she acknowledges the lived experiences of her patients and the systemic barriers people with periods face.
Anne operates a hybrid practice, providing telemedicine to patients across Ontario and offering in-person care in Newmarket and Innisfil. Her practice focuses on menstrual and hormone health, especially PCOS, fertility, and perimenopause. She holds her prescribing authority and is a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner. She graduated from CCNM in 2014 after obtaining her BSc in Biochemistry at McMaster University.
Anne regularly speaks at public-facing events and clinician-focused conferences like OANDCon on topics pertaining to hormonal health and plant-based nutrition. She is an educator with The Confident Clinician and is an ongoing collaborator and volunteer with the Indigenous menstrual equity organization, Moon Time Connections. Her work has been featured on numerous podcasts, blogs, and Canadian national television, where she continues to champion menstrual equity and period literacy.
