Outline:

AUB definition, epidemiology, and presentation, Ddx and PALM-COEIN classification system overview, initial assessment approach and red flags. Brief update of the latest research furthering out understanding of adenomyosis and endometriosis considering epigenetics, social determinants of health, pain signalling, and pathophysiology. (15 minutes)

Adenomyosis: clinical presentation, diagnosis and distinguishing features, comorbidities and impacts on fertility, considerations in perimenopause, putting referrals in place. (15 minutes)

Endometriosis: clinical presentation (especially beyond dysmenorrhea), pelvic vs. extra-pelvic endometriosis, staging diagnosis and distinguishing features, comorbidities and impacts on fertility, challenges patients face, putting referrals in place. (15 minutes)

Conventional and naturopathic strategies as well as co-management for adenomyosis and endometriosis including teaching patients to advocate, laparoscopy, progestogens, antioxidants, herbs, pain management strategies. (15 minutes)

Management strategies continued, including nutrition, patient discussion, acupuncture, pelvic physiotherapy, and more. (15 minutes)

Endometrial hyperplasia prevalence, common causes and prevention strategies, sequellae (endometrial cancer), diagnostic work-up and classification. (15 minutes)

Endometrial hyperplasia management: hormone therapy, progestogen challenge and interpretation, supporting ovulation with naturopathic medicine, follow-up protocols and surveillance. (15 minutes)

Hallmark symptoms patterns for differentiation and diagnostic clues, communication strategies for complex diagnoses and addressing quality of life concerns with patients as well as making shared decisions, small case study to demonstrate diagnosis and treatment strategy, and overview with an emphasis on clinical pearls. (15 minutes)
