Interest in concepts around health, disease, and general well-being first brought Dr Karen Hack ND to complete an honours degree in Biology and Philosophy at McMaster University. Attracted to the principles which underlie naturopathic medicine, she graduated from Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2001 and has since been practising as a Naturopathic Doctor in Toronto. In 2007, interested in the emotional obstacles which often constrain one’s ability to live life fully, Dr Hack ND continued her studies with the Toronto Psychoanalytic Society where she completed the Advanced Training Programme in Psychoanalytic Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. She is currently licensed as both a Naturopathic Doctor and Registered Psychotherapist.
In 2003, Dr Hack ND founded the Head to Toe Health Centre in Kensington Market, which is where her practice is presently located. She is the mother of two children, who bring her much joy and grant her the privilege of putting her knowledge of emotional development into practice. Dr Hack ND directed and produced a 13-piece percussion and melodic ensemble rooted in the polyrhythms of Guinea, West Africa. Throughout the years, she has fused her percussive and therapeutic skills with several workshops on the healing effects of polyrhythmic drumming.
